Although we provide free UPS Ground shipping, this added cost is to make sure there are no problems with the box while it is being shipped and that someone is present to receive the package. With "porch thieves" becoming more and more prevalent we want to make sure that an investment of this amount does not get stolen.
We are sorry if this causes inconvenience and are open to discussing the matter if you are VERY confident you'll have no problem with box being left somewhere. Also, if you are a commercial address and know that someone will be available to receive the package the signature confirmation cost can be removed.
